Category: Business Applications Status: Completed Date: 30.06.2026

About the project

Renti is a desktop business application developed as part of the Software Engineering course at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics. The goal of the project was to analyse, model and digitalize the key business processes of a rent-a-car company while reducing errors and scheduling conflicts in vehicle and reservation management.

The system supports employee authentication, vehicle fleet management, reservation creation and processing, vehicle availability checks, vehicle return records, maintenance tracking, rental price calculation and the creation of financial and operational reports. It also includes warnings for vehicles whose registration is approaching its expiration date.

The application was developed in C# using .NET Framework 4.8, a Windows Forms user interface and a relational database. The solution is organized using domain models, a repository layer for data access and separate forms for individual business functions.

The project covers the complete software development process, including requirements gathering and analysis, system modelling, UML diagram creation in Visual Paradigm, software design, implementation, functional testing and technical documentation.

The project was extracted from a private GitHub Classroom repository into a public personal repository while preserving the original development and commit history.

Key features include employee authentication, fleet management, reservation processing, vehicle return records, maintenance tracking, rental price calculation, financial and operational reports and vehicle registration expiry warnings.
