About the project
Code Sensei is a free educational platform designed to support learning programming through structured lessons, practical coding tasks and independent problem-solving. The goal was to create more than a simple collection of programming exercises by providing users with a system that tracks their progress and helps them understand their mistakes.
Users can browse lessons, solve tasks of different difficulty levels, submit their own code and track their attempts, completed tasks and overall progress. The platform also includes tournaments that allow users to compete with each other and provide additional motivation for continuous learning.
One of the platform’s main features is personalized AI feedback. Instead of displaying only the final correct solution, the system analyzes submitted code and provides feedback about possible errors, the quality of the chosen approach and areas for improvement. The focus is on guiding users toward finding the correct solution independently.
During the project, I worked on defining platform functionalities, application logic, database structure, lesson and task presentation, recording user attempts and submitted solutions, and progress tracking. I also participated in the integration of AI feedback, user experience development, preparation of the business plan and the final project presentation.
The platform was developed using PHP following an MVC approach, MySQL, JavaScript and Tailwind CSS. Google OAuth 2.0 was used for user authentication, while an external API was integrated to generate feedback on submitted programming solutions.
The project was developed in collaboration with Vito List for the LUMEN Development 2025 competition. At the final event, Code Sensei received the Best Solution and Best Presentation awards, recognizing its technical implementation, business concept and project presentation.
